Job Profile  

        1.  Purchasing : 
a.       Ensure on time delivery, within quality parameters set and cost boundaries.
b.      Evaluate vendor performance.
c.       Conduct negotiation meetings.
d.      Create frame agreements to ensure price and availability.
e.      Conducting technical meetings with vendors and internal design team to resolve technical issues so as to ensure that bids from all the competitors are at par with each other for comparison.
f.        Setup VMI’s and milk runs.
g.       Project Procurement: Prepare procurement plan in accordance with the project plan and guidance from the project manager.
 
         2. Vendor Development:
a.       Build a base for procurement of machined parts, round bars, castings, motors and services based on the forward looking business plan.
 
       3.  Warehousing & Logistics:
a.       Manage the inventory levels and keep improving inventory turns.
b.      Identify E&O and drive necessary actions.
c.       Drive perpetual and mandatory inventory counts, analyse variances if any.
d.      Recommend inventory settings for optimization.
e.      Manage domestic and export logistics.
 
        4.  Manage the Performance of the Procurement area:
a.       Work closely with the finance and accounts team to study procurement data and identify cost reduction measures
b.      Study ways and strategies to reduce the total cost of procurement.
c.       Report on procurement activities and performance.
d.  Review incoming inspection complaints and raise the same with vendors for speedy addressal.


Qualification  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.


Experience
  

      
           12-15 years’ experience in Pump / Industrial equipment Procurement in areas of Machining/ fabrication, castings, motors, piping related equipment; with at least 3-5 years as Head of the Purchasing team; a must.
 
            Experience& knowledge of ASME/Six Sigma/ Lean manufacturing will be added advantage.
